I cast well-worn women’s shoes, inverting the wear, residue and trace markings of the interior sole. 50+ pairs inhabit a liminal space- the four-floor stairwell of a school and former hospital. The vertical chamber is occupied by the women’s voices; they speak of embodied experience and physical wear in the specific realm of undervalued carework and maintenance labor.
