Notes From Boying, a pressing concern book mark, is a mother’s rumination on structures of gender as they confront and conform her child. Writing from a place of witness, empathy, and shared affliction, her observations are colored by the uneasy awareness that she also actively restricts and forms possibilities, her position oscillating between enforcer and enforced.
